VENTURA, California – District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced that Areonah Walker (DOB 07/29/03), of Riverside, and Terrion Phillips (DOB 10/13/03), of Los Angeles, were sentenced for their roles in a string of retail thefts. Walker was sentenced to 180 days county jail and 24 months formal felony probation. Phillips was sentenced to 270 days county jail and 24 months formal felony probation. Deputy District Attorney Gerard Eugenio had urged the court to impose 2 years 8 months incarceration for each Phillips and Walker.

VENTURA, California – District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Jose Refugio Carbajal (DOB 11/25/66), of Camarillo, was sentenced to three years county jail. He will serve one year in custody and two years on mandatory supervision. Carbajal previously paid $1,390,985 in full restitution to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) when he pled guilty to 10 felonies including public benefits fraud, identity theft, money laundering, and conspiracy.

VENTURA, California – District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Nathan James Olivares (DOB 03/27/02), of Fillmore, has been charged with causing an explosion in the backyard of a residence in Moorpark. Investigators also discovered that Olivares had attempted to ignite a vehicle with an explosive device in the same incident. The complaint charges Olivares with felony violations of explosion with intent to injure, attempted arson, possession of a destructive device, and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.

VENTURA, California – District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Judy Hein (DOB 07/04/49), of Rhinelander, Wisconsin, pled guilty to two counts of felony workers’ compensation insurance fraud.
