District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Laura Leonard (DOB 05/01/75), of Simi Valley, was sentenced to serve 3 years 8 months in prison and ordered to pay restitution following her embezzlement convictions in two cases.

VENTURA, California – District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Luis Aceves
(DOB 03/23/56), of Camarillo, pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter and personal use of a knife for the April 6, 2017, killing of his brother Gilbert Aceves, also of Camarillo.

VENTURA, California – District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Samuel Matthew Rocha (DOB 01/25/93), of Port Hueneme, was charged with one count of murder and four counts of attempted murder, which occurred during the evening of April 19, 2021, in Port Hueneme. The complaint charged five special allegations that Rocha personally used his vehicle as a deadly weapon and two special allegations that he personally inflicted great bodily injury. Rocha was also charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of battery for an incident in Oxnard approximately 10 minutes before the murder and attempted murders.

VENTURA, California – District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Edward Ayans
(DOB 3/26/72), of Thousand Oaks, was charged with committing the crimes of mayhem, assault with a deadly weapon, and elder abuse under circumstances likely to cause great bodily injury or death.

VENTURA, California – District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Jason Armenta (DOB 03/06/01), of Oxnard, has been charged with the murder of Cristobal Gonzalez, of Oxnard. The complaint charges one count of murder and one count of attempted murder. Both charges include the special allegations that Armenta personally used a firearm in the commission of the crimes, and that the crimes were committed for the benefit of, or in association with, a criminal street gang.

VENTURA, California – District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Kyle Davis (DOB 08/16/85), of Thousand Oaks, has been charged with vandalism, assault, and hate crimes which occurred in September 2020 and April 2021.

VENTURA, California – District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that on April 15, 2021, Sheila Hernandez (DOB 12/08/77), of Oxnard, pled no contest to battery and a hate crime. Hernandez was sentenced to 12 months probation, 20 days jail, and 10 hours community service by Judge Gilbert Romero.

District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Tara Elaine Nykoluk (DOB 12/19/75), of Simi Valley, was convicted on three felony counts of embezzlement and forgery.
