    District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced that charges have been filed against Keith David McDowell-Satyananda (DOB: 10/30/76), of Los Angeles, for a suspected DUI crash that killed one victim and injured another. The defendant entered pleas of not guilty to the charges at today’s arraignment.

    District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Parole Board denied the release of inmate Andrew Stuart Luster (DOB: 12/15/63) after a senior prosecutor argued that the convicted rapist continues to represent a threat to public safety and should remain incarcerated in state prison.

    District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced that Zarbab Ali (DOB 01/04/97), of Hawthorne, has been arraigned on murder charges in the death of Simi Valley resident Rachel Castillo. He entered a not guilty plea today to the murder charge and special allegations.

    District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Jaime Gonzales (DOB 01/26/78), of Oxnard, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for committed fentanyl crimes while in police custody.

    District Attorney Erik Nasarenko has announced that Dr. Fariborz Farnad (DOB 07/22/65), of Beverly Hills, has been held to answer in the Ventura County Superior Court on one count of felony sexual battery. A preliminary hearing was held on Monday, December 12, 2022.

    Farnad works as a dentist at Oxnard Oral and Facial Surgery and is accused of committing the alleged acts on a patient who was under anesthesia.

    District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced that three men have been charged with robbery for their alleged role in a “Bank Jugging” incident.

    This crime involves staking out potential victims in bank parking lots and then following them to their next destination to rob them.

    District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced that on Thursday, December 8, 2022, transient defendant June Glandros (DOB 04/10/96), was sentenced to 21 years in state prison.

    In September 2022, Glandros was convicted or pled guilty to several counts, including the charged gun allegations, for three separate crimes that occurred in 2021 and 2022.

    District Attorney Erik Nasarenko has announced a no contest plea was made today in the case involving Bijan Nickroo (DOB 09/27/87), of Simi Valley.

    Nickroo, a teacher and coach at Simi Valley High School when he committed sex crimes on students, pled no contest to luring, oral copulation of a minor under 16, possession of child pornography and multiple counts of contact with the intent to commit child pornography crimes.

    Throughout the investigation by the Simi Valley Police Department, 28 known victims were identified.

    District Attorney Erik Nasarenko has announced charges against a Camarillo man accused of embezzling from a Ventura business where he worked as an operations manager.

    Gabriel Garcia, of Camarillo, is charged with grand theft, fraud and 19 counts of forgery. He pled not guilty at today’s arraignment.

    Wildlife Trafficking Crew Charged and Pled Guilty to Poaching Crimes

    An in-depth investigation by the California Department of Fish & Wildlife identified a large poaching and wildlife trafficking organization referred to as the “E-Bike crew.” The “E Bike crew” conspired with one another and Lizette’s Market to fraudulently reprint hunting licenses and tags for the purpose of unlawfully poaching wildlife. All seven defendants pled guilty to two or more felonies ranging between 180 and 220 days in jail, as well as a two-year probationary period.
