    District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced that a guilty plea was entered by Juventino Reyes Guerrero (DOB 09/11/78), of Piru, for his role in working with an illegal wildlife poaching group, known as the “E-Bike Crew.”

    District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced that on February 1, 2023, former California Highway Patrol Officer, Trever Dalton (DOB 09/19/72) of Ventura, was sentenced to one year in the Ventura County Jail and 36 months formal probation for shooting his neighbor in 2017.

    District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced that charges have been filed against Aristeo Rivera Ramos (DOB 03/07/52), of Oak View, for child molestation.

    Ramos is facing 11 counts of forcible lewd acts on minors under the age of 14.

    On Monday, January 23, Congresswoman Julia Brownley presented a check for $640,000 to the County of Ventura to expand crime victim services and resources in Oxnard and Port Hueneme.

    The money will help with the expansion of the Ventura County Family Justice Center, a program administered by the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office, at a new location in Oxnard.

    District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Rotherie Durell Foster (DOB 11/03/85), of Camarillo, has been charged with the murder of Jose Velasquez.

    Foster is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 13 of the Ventura County Superior Court. District Attorney Erik Nasarenko and Ventura County Sheriff Jim Fryhoff will hold a joint news conference at 12:00 p.m. prior to the arraignment.

    During his remarks, Nasarenko will address the alarming increase in fentanyl-based case filings seen in Ventura County, which have risen 3,428 percent in three years.
