District Attorney Gregory Totten responded to the ruling from the United States Supreme Court in Miller v. Alabama. In a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court held that laws which impose mandatory sentences of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole upon persons under the age of 18 convicted of murder are unconstitutional.

All four burglaries occurred during the nighttime hours of January 7, 2012, and January 23, 2012, in the Park Springs condominium complex located in Moorpark, California.

Totten announced today that Cheree Noel Sanker (DOB 03/07/77), of Fillmore, was sentenced on May 22, 2012, by the Honorable Colleen Toy White to nine years in state prison. Sanker pled guilty on March 15, 2012, to one count of corporal injury to a co-habitant with a deadly weapon, a felony.
