District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that Victor Chavira (DOB 4/3/70), of Oxnard, was convicted by a jury for the August 2008, first-degree murder of Albino Ramirez. Chavira repeatedly shot and killed the victim during a $30,000 drug money rip-off.

District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that Rene Solis (DOB 1/17/60), of Los Angeles, has pleaded guilty to three counts of felony foreclosure consultant fraud. The charges were the result of a two-year investigation by the District Attorney’s Real Estate Fraud Unit.

District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that James Calzada (DOB 1/15/1972), of Hemet, was sentenced by Ventura County Superior Court Judge David Hirsch to seven years in state prison after a jury found him guilty of possessing a dirk or dagger while in jail custody.

District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today the filing of a felony complaint charging Luellen Leyva (DOB 02/26/1953) of Newbury Park with 20 counts of forgery and the aggravated white collar crime enhancement. The prosecution of Leyva results from an investigation conducted by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.

District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that Andrew Thomas Enriquez (DOB 4/25/1977), of Ventura, was sentenced to the maximum possible sentence of 14 years in prison for battering his girlfriend with a deadly weapon and causing great bodily injury to her.

District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that Kevin Richard Graehl (DOB 6/30/81), of Westlake, pled guilty on August 29, 2012, to one count of first-degree residential burglary and one count of false imprisonment. Each count included a special allegation that Graehl personally used a firearm in the commission of the offense.
